Political Killings in Burdwan
Prof. Pradip Bhattacharya, President WBPCC, condemns the political killings in Burdwan, saying "West Bengal has seen enough political killings in the last three decades. Indian National Congress never indulges in violence. Such politics of violence and murder should be stopped immediately.”

Proposed Nazrul Academy
To institute INDIRA GANDHI RESEARCH AND INFORMATION CENTRE in the present Indira Bhavan at Salt Lake. Central Government may be requested to support the establishment of this Centre on the initiatives of the State.
An integrated cultural complex, NAZRUL SADAN be established in Kolkata and initiatives be taken to establish Nazrul Academy in each of the districts.
The proposed Nazrul Research Academy may be established in Churilia in Burdwan district, which place is associated with the name and memory of Kaji Najrul Islam.
The New Secretariat Building, already a new landmark of the city of Kolkata, may be named as Nazrul Bhavan.
